Alpine Strawberries are not really herbs, but I grow them and I couldn't figure out any other place to put them. I have always used them as edgings (or otherwise included them) in herb garden designs I've done because they fill a niche that herbs do not. Plus - they're delicious and interesting! Keep in mind that planting different varieties of strawberries in the same area results in cross pollination of them. They will no longer be the original type or flavor at that point. IMPORTANT! These red, white and golden berries are easy to grow indoors. In the Spring, they can be planted out doors early and you will have delicious small white, red and golden berries by June. The white strawberry plants are extremely prolific, produce runners and each can easily produce a dozen new plants by next Fall, when they should bear again.
