No Plants available for Sale in 2010. Sorry.

Santolinas aren't nearly as widely used as they ought to be. Once upon a time, they were used extensively as strewing herbs because of their pleasant pungent scent and insect repellant qualities, and they are still widely used by makers of pet beds for that reason. But they are also lovely additions to the herb garden and perennial border. All of these have varying shades of yellow blossoms, which appear for many weeks each summer. All can be pruned into low tight hedges and used in knot gardens and topiaries. The silver/grey varieties have been a staple of the "grey gardens" I have designed over the years. Magical in the moonlight!!!Substitutions of a similar plant may be made unless specified.

Tender perennial in zones 8-10; acts as an annual in colder climates. Grey santolina (Neopolitan) belongs in every herb garden, especially if you're trying to create a silver or grey theme. The plant's fuzzy, finely cut, silver leaves are especially attractive in the evening when they almost seem to glow. Grey santolina requires a sunny garden spot and excellent drainage. It has yellow flowers during the summer. Often called "Lavender Cotton". .
